NUT FREE ZONE:
We are a nut-free camp. We have many children with nut allergies attending our camps and want to make the environment as safe for them as possible. Thank you for understanding.
EW CODE OF CONDUCT:
EverWonder is committed to creating an atmosphere of trust and cooperation in which to nourish each child’s physical, intellectual and social growth. We strive to help children become cooperative, caring and responsible members of our camps. EverWonder embraces the four principles of respect, responsibility, kindness and honesty. These principles guide children’s interactions with each other and with EverWonder staff, staff interactions with students’ and staff interactions with each other and parents.
EverWonder follows the Responsive Classroom approach to teaching. We will begin each morning with a morning meeting where each child will be greeted in a positive way. This will be followed with a game and a morning message.
Together with the children, EverWonder staff develops classroom rules that are founded on the principles of respect, responsibility, kindness and honesty. Our staff recognizes and accepts that children need varying levels of support in learning to follow rules, to interact in a group setting and to take responsibility for their behavior.
EverWonder staff implements appropriate logical consequences (thinking time or loss of privileges) when children do not follow established program rules. If a pattern of inappropriate behavior continues, EverWonder staff will work with the camper to set specific, appropriate behavior goals and outline consequences for continued inappropriate behavior. EverWonder staff may ask parents/guardians for suggestions to help improve behavior or create a written behavior contract.
Continued inappropriate behavior or severely inappropriate behavior (such as physical or emotional violence or bullying) will result in immediate dismissal from camp and forfeiture of camp fees. The parent/guardian is responsible for picking up a dismissed camper immediately.
